CPAP Machine Donations
Donate Your CPAP Machine. Help Someone Breathe Easier.
A CPAP or BiPAP machine that is no longer being used may be able to help someone else. SacBreathe welcomes donations of eligible respiratory equipment to support community members who need breathing assistance. Your donation can give useful equipment a second life.
Why CPAP and BiPAP Machines Matter
For people with obstructive sleep apnea, breathing can repeatedly stop or become restricted during sleep. CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) therapy helps keep the airway open by delivering a steady stream of pressurized air through a mask. When used as prescribed, CPAP therapy can improve sleep quality, reduce daytime sleepiness, and support overall health and well-being. By helping keep the airway open during sleep, CPAP therapy reduces interruptions in breathing, improves oxygen levels, and may help lower blood pressure in individuals with obstructive sleep apnea. Effective treatment can also improve concentration, mood, and daily functioning.[1]
BiPAP (bilevel positive airway pressure) machines provide two pressure levels, typically a higher pressure when breathing in and lower pressure when breathing out. They may be prescribed for certain sleep-related breathing disorders or other respiratory conditions, depending on a patient’s medical needs.[2]
Access to the right equipment matters. Donating a machine you no longer need can help expand the supply of equipment available to people seeking prescribed breathing support.
Give Your Equipment a Second Life
If you have a functioning CPAP or BiPAP machine stored at home, consider donating it. Eligible donated equipment can be evaluated for reuse through the donation program. We also welcome certain new, unopened supplies and other respiratory equipment. Every potential donation begins with an eligibility review.
What Equipment Can Be Donated?
SacBreathe can only accept functioning CPAP and BiPAP machines from smoke-free households. Machines must have no more than 10,000 hours of use and meet current model requirements. We may accept new respiratory supplies only in their original, unopened packaging. We cannot accept used or opened masks and hoses.
Please contact us before donating any equipment, as specific models and supplies may not qualify.

How to Donate
1. Email MHill@sacbreathe.org or Breathesacramento@gmail.com to ask about donating your equipment.
2. Include the manufacturer, model, and, if available, the machine’s hours of use so eligibility can be reviewed.
3. Wait for confirmation and instructions before bringing or shipping equipment.
Important: Do not drop off or ship machines or supplies without contacting the program in advance. If your CPAP or auto BiPAP machine has an SD card, leave it in the machine. The card will be erased after it is received.
