Dear Friend,

We are excited to announce that the 2008 ETBT will be returning to the Napa Valley!

Online registration for the 2008 ETBT is now up and running. Visit www.sacbreathe.org/trek to register now, or download and fax/mail in a paper registration form. The cost of the 2008 ETBT is a $35 registration fee ($25 before May 31, 2008) plus a minimum donation of $450. 100% of the donations raised are used locally.

We are also excited to share that the entire Trek will be staged out of the Napa County Fairgrounds in Calistoga this year. Camping facilities are provided on the Trek. For those who prefer not to camp, we have provided an alternative lodging list, including hotels within a mile of the Fairgrounds and contact information for the on-site RV Park (for reservations call 707-942-5221 or reserve your spots online by clicking here). Limited spaces are available, so if you are interested we recommend calling soon!

You Told Us, We Listened

Based on Trekker and volunteer feedback from the 2007 Trek, we will be keeping some things the same this year and others will be changed. Here are just a few:

What Will Be the Same:

      • Camping will be at the Napa County Fairgrounds in Calistoga.
      • Free tribute bands (in one color only), which can be requested when you register or any time after by calling 916-444-5900 are available again this year.
      • The shower trucks will be back again this year.
      • The caterers, Red Oak BBQ, are back by popular demand.
      • There will still be multiple route options each day, one with more climbing (the shorter route will have a little more climbing this year).

What Will Be Different/Added:

      • As mentioned above, the entire event will be staged out of the Napa County Fairgrounds in Calistoga.
      • The cooking and serving of meals will be done in a building further away from the camping area (but not too far!).
      • There will be a different system for massage sign-ups (to be announced soon) to make sure everyone has a fair chance at signing up regardless of which route they take.
      • The website has been re-structured to make it even more user friendly – let us know what you think!
      • Trek Trading Post memorabilia will be available for purchase in more convenient locations (at the Cantina and Trek Central).

Did You Know That May is Bike Month?

A good time to start training for the Trek is during May. "May is Bike Month" is the campaign to log one million miles (bike miles that is) during the month. Spare the air by skipping those car trips and travel by bike instead. Log onto Mayisbikemonth.com to enter your bike miles during the month. If you are not participating with another team, join the Breathe California Team!
