37th Annual Clean Air Awards Luncheon

Our region consistently ranks as one of the most polluted metropolitan areas in the country. However, thanks to the efforts of individuals, businesses, agencies and organizations in our communities that go above and beyond to help clean our air, our air is improving. Each year in May, we recognize and thank Clean Air Champions for their outstanding efforts to help improve air quality in our region at the annual Clean Air Awards Luncheon. This year's event will be held on May 29, 2012.

From more than 100 entries, we have narrowed the field down to 12 finalists - and we're passing the final decision on to you!  In addition to winning a $100 cash prize, the People's Choice Award winner will also be featured as the official cover art on Breathe California's Annual Report for 2012-13!  Voting ends at NOON on Monday, May 27th. 2012 Vegetation Conference

Breathe California of Sacramento-Emigrant Trails, with the support of the Sacramento Metropolitan AQMD, held a small invitation-only meeting at Drexel University, on June 5th and 6th 2012, regarding the topic of near road air pollution impacts and mitigation strategies.

The purpose of this workshop was to share new data being developed by several agencies and connecting science to implementation. Presentations were not academic discussions but rather summaries of a few recent and important findings and their implications for planning. The conference convened over forty experts from around the country to discuss pressing problems and next steps

. Notes from this informative briefing are being compiled and will be available on the BCSET website in the near future, however several presentations are now available for viewing.
