Breathe California of Sacramento – Emigrant Trails is dedicated to healthy air and preventing lung and other air-pollution related diseases by partnering with youth, advocating public policy, supporting air pollution research, and educating the public.

Breathe California of Sacramento-Emigrant Trails has been a leader in fighting for clean air, healthy lungs and a tobacco-free future since 1917.

We are the only Sacramento-based organization that spends 100% of every dollar raised locally to support and expand our innovative programs, which improve the health of our residents.

With the continued support and dedication of people like you, we promise to continue making the Sacramento Region a healthier place to live and breathe.

Thank you to our Centennial Sponsors for their year-round support of our programs

32nd Annual Clean Air Awards Luncheon a Success!

Four hundred people attended the 32nd Annual Clean Air Awards Luncheon on May 7th at the Sheraton Grand to recognize this year's six Clean Air Champions - Gary Federico/Federico Beauty Institute, Natomas Unified School District, Tony Powers, Million Mile May Program, 9onF and Keelan Shaw-Connelly – for going above and beyond to help make our region a healthier place to live and breathe.

This was the first year we held a High School Art Contest in conjunction with the Clean Air Awards. Our three winners – Eliza Aguilar from Vacaville High School, Codi Baker from Bella Vista High School and Annalisa Grosse from John F. Kennedy High School - attended the luncheon and their pieces were displayed for all to see. Guest speaker Reverend Dr. David Thompson spoke about how we can get to a future of zero carbon emissions. Click here to read his inspiring speech.

Thank you to everyone who attended the luncheon, our event sponsors and volunteers who helped make this event a huge success. A special thanks to our Gold Sponsor, Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District, for their year-round support of our clean air programs.
